Basildon and Pitsea Carnival and Festival 2024
On Saturday, the 27th of July 2024, the Basildon and Pitsea Carnival and Festival took place at Northlands Park in Pitsea.
At the event, there was a free raffle for festival goers to win various prizes as they were informed about the different PCN roles. Those who approached the stall were also asked which GP practice they attend to see if they could be offered further help through the social prescribers and healthcare assistants from each PCN.
As part of Mid and South Essex ICB, West Basildon PCN, Central Basildon PCN and East Basildon PCN attended the event. A stall was set up to create awareness of the various roles that all primary care networks have to offer their patients. The stall and collective was arranged by Annalisa Furnevel from West Basildon PCN.
The various healthcare roles
The various healthcare roles being promoted were:
- Social Prescribing Link Worker
- Care Coordinators
- Advanced Nurse Practitioner
- Physician Associate
- First Contact Physiotherapist
- Clinical Pharmacist
- Pharmacy Technician
- GP Assistant (GPA)
- Nursing Associate
- Mental Health Practitioner (Adult)
- Mental Health Practitioner (Children & Young People)
- Health and Wellbeing Coach
Those who attended the event definitely enjoyed themselves. The weather held out to be bright and sunny all day.
Between the stalls, games, food, drink and creating health awareness, the carnival event was definitely a success.
About the Basildon and Pitsea Carnival and Festival
The Basildon & Pitsea Carnival Association was formed in 2000 with the merger of Pitsea & Vange Carnival Association and Basildon Carnival Association.
The first Pitsea Carnival was around 1921 and Basildon Carnival started in 1958.
The Carnival and Festival is held every July to provide a day of entertainment for the local community and to help raise the profile of many local groups and charities.
