Mental wellness support
The Integrated Neighbourhood Team of East Basildon PCN held an opportunistic health event to support mental wellbeing at The Place in Pitsea.
Several patients across the Primary Care Network were invited to attend the event to learn more about diabetes. The event was a success.
A slideshow presentation was delivered where patients came to listen to educational information that may benefit their health and wellbeing.
Event speakers and contributors
There were 2 main speakers on the day sharing their knowledge of mental health
These 2 speakers included a member from Vita Minds and a member of The Craig Tyler Trust. There was also a member of the Mid and South Essex ICB who also attended the event and spoke in front of the audience. Even our PCN’s Social Prescriber shared her knowledge and advice.
Several stations were setup by 4 organisations along with the Integrated Neighbourhood Team of East Basildon PCN. They are mentioned in more detail further into this blog post.
Each station provided flyers with relevant information promoting services and support for everyone at the event, both physically and mentally.
Providing supportive services
Living with a mental health illness is not easy and can adversely affect a person’s physical and mental health and wellbeing.
It is very important for patients to know where they can find support services for any mental health problems they are facing.
Besides visiting your GP, you can find help through organisations and charities that are affiliated with the NHS through the Primary Care Network.
This is where our PCN steps in to make patients aware that they can find help and support through third party services.
The Mental Wellness Event provided patients with a way to physical signpost them to organisations that could offer such help and support.
